Algorithm Development and Real Time Processing

Algorithm Development

SciTec specializes in the development and implementation of mathematical algorithms for signal detection, feature extraction, and event classification. The event classification techniques are often customized by incorporating phenomenological information directly into the algorithm, an approach which leverages SciTec's expertise in physics-based signature modeling. These techniques are applied to a wide variety of data types, including multispectral and hyperspectral imagery (HSI), video, and high-speed radiometry data, including observables from high-bandwidth laser receivers.

Processing Architectures

SciTec designs processing architectures to implement algorithms in real or near-real time. These architectures integrate a combination of custom and commercial computing satisfy customer requirements. For example, SciTec has developed several ISA-based PC cards to extract spectral features from high-speed HSI data streams in real time. Other efforts have involved designing real time algorithms for implementation in parallel DSPs.

Software Development

SciTec develops custom software to support real time computing applications, as well as applications to provide quick turnaround model predictions and support data analysis. In many cases, graphical user interfaces containing real-time data displays are incorporated to provide immediate access to data products and ancillary information.
