  • End-to-End System Engineering

    SciTec's expertise in observable modeling, system modeling, and algorithm development supports end-to-end system engineering. The process begins with physics-based source signature models which, when combined with atmospheric propagation and scatter models as well as background models, can be used to produce signatures incident on sensors. Using our awareness of current technology as well as in-house sensor modeling capability, we design systems to meet customer needs. With in-house optomechanical and electronic design and fabrication capabilities, we build both prototype as well as production systems. From our intimate knowledge of the physics observables and the sensor, we design processing architectures and algorithms for multispectral and hyperspectral systems to create the final data products required by the customer. Thus, SciTec provides a truly end-to-end modeling, design, and analysis capability to its customers.

  • Phenomenology

    SciTec has developed a variety of observable and propagation models that support system design tradeoff studies, test planning, data interpretation, and intelligence analysis. These models include phenomenology models for hot/high energy radiation sources, background and target radiation signature codes for electro-optic data exploitation, and data analysis and interpretation algorithms for technical intelligence acquisition. In addition, SciTec has developed several propagation and scatter models appropriate for laser observables and other events.

  • Algorithm Development and Real Time Processing

    SciTec designs mathematical algorithms and implements them in unique processing architectures, and develops custom analysis and system software. SciTec has developed its own real-time processor; in addition, SciTec uses commercial processor technologies to best satisfy customer requirements. SciTec develops custom software to support advanced sensor systems using graphical user interfaces containing real-time data displays. SciTec also develops custom software to provide quick turnaround model predictions and support data analysis.

  • Electro-Optic System Development

    SciTec has extensive experience in electronics miniaturization, rapid prototyping, sensor architecture development, and fieldable system production. SciTec can develop custom data collection systems with high volume data storage requirements and using small format computers. In addition, SciTec can integrate signal processing capabilities into custom sensors, including image preprocessing, dedicated algorithms implemented in FPGAs, and parallel computing architectures.

  • Field Testing and Data Analysis

    SciTec's phenomenological modeling, calibration, test design, and test execution expertise support a wide range of test applications. Recent SciTec field tests include missile signature measurements, potential false alarm characterization, atmospheric propagation model validation measurements, laser observables measurements, and target signature characterization. SciTec analyzes its own data in order to provide its customers with final products that satisfy their data requirements.
