Modeling Approach

of missile signatures
SciTec has developed a variety of observable and propagation models that support system design tradeoff studies, test planning, and data interpretation. These models include those developed from first principles as well as empirical models. Some models incorporate both first principles and empirical formulations to best capture the subject phenomenon. In addition, SciTec uses signature measurements to refine phenomenological models.

Model Types

These models include physics models for hot/high energy radiation sources, background and target radiation signature codes for electro-optic data exploitation, and data analysis and interpretation algorithms. In addition, SciTec has developed several propagation and scatter models appropriate for laser observables and other events.

Models Support Scenario Assessments

SciTec has extensive experience in formulating feasibility and performance assessments for different collection scenarios. SciTec's diverse collection of phenomenological models are key components to these assessments. Together with models for sensor and processing architectures, such assessments are customized to support test planning, sensor design, and data exploitation.
